quick disconnect line

well this is the third time i've pulled the tranny out first time to switch it out 2nd to replace everything from engine to tranny. now this time for a slave cylinder. each time i've just unbolted the master cylinder and took the whole thing out. how can i disconnect the (quick) fitting from the slave cylinder it's a fm 146 tranny.

If you look close, you will see a roll pin. Jut pop out the roll pin and pull the line out.

thanks man fighting that master cylinder is a big pain in the @$$

That's the FM145.
The FM146 line should have a plastic sleave (White) over the fitting for the slave.
You need to push this sleave in till it is almost not visible any more and it will release the fingers holding the fitting to the slave.

i looked and it looks like ones suppose to be there but i don't see one. i don't remember if there was one or not this tranny was installed in early 05'

I've heard of guys taking a margarine container and cutting a strip to fit, using that to disconnect it.
There is also a special tool you can get from Ford to remove it.

I bought a cheap set like this from schucks for around $8

and I cut up a credit card and used it once in a pinch.

i got it off i took a hose clamp and cut it in half and pushed it in. worked like a champ!
