435 adapter
hey guys i found an adapter to run my 435 and 205 on the back of the 2.9 for 375 what do ya think?
Re: 435 adapter
Sounds reasonable for an adapter most seem to be 350-500 (adapters in general not specifically a 435 to a 2.9).rockcrawlerbronco2 wrote:hey guys i found an adapter to run my 435 and 205 on the back of the 2.9 for 375 what do ya think?
What does that leave necessary for the flywheel, and clutch and does it take into account the balance of the flywheel?

I thought you had a V8?rockcrawlerbronco2 wrote:hey guys i found an adapter to run my 435 and 205 on the back of the 2.9 for 375 what do ya think?

my previous rig had a v8 the new rig i recently built has the 2.9. but the flywheel is to be a 300 inline six flywheel with either an 11 or 10 inch clutch.i had the 435 and 205 in my other rig and I loved it.i also figured out a litte secret for making the slave work. i found an early 80s aluminum bellhousing with the slave cylinder mount on it and the b2 line goes directly into the fullsize slave.
What happened to your other bronco II? How can you live without a V8? That adapter is pretty cool, but I think you need to re-think this.... There's no replacement for displacement
I initially tried to find one of those aluminum bellhousing, but couldn't find one. Also, I'm pretty sure the slave would have been in the way of my headers.

i scrapped it.it was looking a lot like ur old black one.got tired of screwing with it.but i was running the duff shorty headers and i had more than enough clearance with the slave.you make a good point about the displacement thin but ive been there done that and i can beat that little 2.9 as hard as i want and not worry about breakin shit.yet dont worry when it blows up the injected 5.0 will come into play.
So the flywheel just has to be a "zero" or "neutral" balance. The 300 six flywheel is good to start with if you go with a 5L in the future since it's easy to match balance to the 50oz and can be done for abut $50 locally.
Me personally I would spend the $$$ putting in the V8 now, I agree with Matt, there is now way you will be happy in the future when the skinny pedal is buried and the motor is just bogging down vs. jumping to life.
