Bronco II modifications

Hello!

I recently purchased a used 84 Bronco II 4X4. I haven't heard a lot of bad press from those who are using the vehicle currently but they did get a lot of bad press from consumer groups about being prone to roll over when they came out in the 80's. Is there anything that can be done, modification wise, to cut down on this possibility? Can you lengthen the axle or use a wider tire?

Also, how hard is it to cut the top off and either replace it with a snap on top or the original shell? What are the drawbacks, if any?

Thanks!

I have had my b2 since 90, and have only felt like I was going to roll twice and that was on the trail in moab, and I didnt roll. These B2s are like any car, SUV or truck. You drive dumb and it will rolll. Trust me I have seen everything roll.

As far as the top, sure you can cut it off, but you will have to use your imagination for the rag top or hard top. Drawbacks are cold inwinter wit ragtop, but your in texas so thats minimized. Possible water leaks could also be a problem. Cut the top and then go to a boat cover shop and they should be able to help you out.
