I have a whistle that my 89 B2 does only at a certain rpm and only with a certain amount of throttle. Any gear doesn't matter but when I am going down the road I can hear a faint whistle when I give a certain amount of throttle. To me it sounds like and intake leak but I could be wrong. I also have a cone filter instead of the stock air box. But I dont think it is coming from there. Help!

I'd bet it's your air filter, try taking it off and placing the stock one back on and see if that fixes it.

I have been reading in 4x4 mags that the open element filter tends to give you a whistle.

Well if that is the case I can deal with it. I dont mind problems like that If they arent really a problem.

Until It inhibits the drivablility, I would run with a whistle.
that is why they give you a airbox from the factory to cover the intake noise.

I actually run a cone filter on my 96' Cutlass and there is a noticable whistle when I get on the gas..so I would say check the filter first before getting into to much $$
