I am finally installing the radius arms on my d44 and the bushings dont look right. Its like they are too small and are being smashed into place. Is this right? It looks ghetto to me.

Ya I checked like 4 times before starting the bolts in. In the drivers side I did after the passenger side and I could not get why the bolts would not line up with the holes and noticed that I had the bushings flipped. That made me feel good that it messed up the lining up so much that it would fit, so I know I put them on right. Both sides did the same bulging so at least its consistant.

Here is a pic with everything bolted together. Now just the coils and slide it under the b2 then place the 5.0 for weight to get the hole drilled for the radius arm brackets.

mine did do the same thing just not as bad...I wouldn't realy worry to much about it. as long as you got the right side up you should be fine.

good to see you working on the truck!

It feels good to work on it again. I really dont have time to work on it, but we made and offer on a bigger house and are going to move in Jan, so we have to clean up this house so we can put it on the market soon. My wife said that most other things can wait for the b2 to get moved. I wish I had time, I forget how satisfying it is to actually work on it.

Yep, they squish out like that. Glad to see you are making some progress.

There should be hole that lines up with the radius arm braket on the frame. Might save you a little work. I think if I were to do it again, I'd try to go an inch forward to get more tire/firewall clearance.

UPDATE!!!!

I got a chance to work on the B2 with it was almost 40degrees out. WARM!! Also had to move some snow off the driveway, but I still had to use a heater. Anyway, the front axle is in place with the coils mounted. I havent mounted the steering, trackbar or radius, but still progress. Its much more fun then painting and fixing our house to sell.....

I better not, or I will hunt down the maker LOL. They are beefy and I would be scared if I even dented them. I will have to paint them at some time, as paint is chippng off. What paint did you use on them originally?

If paint is chipping it means they weren't cleaned before painting. It was a rustoleom product
