okay along with the drag link i've been having a hella of a time finding brakes that will work with what i have...... i know, i know disc brakes would be nice but not in the pic as of yet. i have drums and there all together... problem is for some reason i had to go with the small 11x 1 3/4 drums. the '79 11x 2 1/2 wouldn't work with the axle shafts im using (drum wouldn't but up against axle shaft flange).

no biggy but the 11x1 3/4 drums need turned and the auto hobby on base say there warped. im going to get a second opinion but in the mean time i just ordered a new set of '75 11x1 3/4 drums to find out there different then what i have (they have a lip and the ones i have dont) to much gap betwen backing plate and drum, but i might run it that way becuz its still covered... i try'd search part # of drum but come up with nothing.
any one have any idea on how i can find out what drums i have???

If that's the 9" I sold you, then it came complete on a 1974 rolling parts bronco.

I know Dbrown had some problems with swapping drums on his axle. He might have some more info.

well im just going to use the drums they cover the shoe surface so fawk it. now all i have to do is find a damn fitting to mount the b2 skyjacker brake lines in the rear and breaks will be done..

Nobody how did you run the rear break lines? did you use any of the b2 stuff from the hard line to the axle?

I'd have to look, but I think I used the stock rubber hose and Tee, then ran new hard line out to the calipers.

yes, I did have some problems with my drums...my solution was to just swap out to another rear.

it can be solved easier though...the 9" you have had the smaller brakes right?

the problem is the axle flange has a different offset. so even if you change everything from the backing plates out they will not work. the solution is to find a set of 76-77 axles. they have the correct offset. the down fall is that you could swap to disk for that price.

I was planning to shim either the bearing or the drum but it just seemed like to much cost and trouble to retain the 28 spline axles, so I upgraded to a full width, 31 spline rear to get equile length shafts, a wider stance, and bigger brakes.

thats exactly the problem and i wish i would have known earlier. WOW!!! what a pain in the a$$. well now i know and will work with it untill i have the doe for the disc conversion

honestly, it realy depends on what you want. are you planning to put this in your BII?
