I had it on the trailer so I could do the tranny work and not lay in the gravel. the old top you could see light threw the seams and the front was seperated from the mounting flange. I plan to cut it up and haul it off. might use some of the center metal to make some new floor pans...
the front axle will stay at this point because I don't have the other one ready yet so I plan to run a set of different rims that have different offset. I already got them but my 35's are on them so I got to get them switched.
the top I put on is in really good shape so it makes the truck look 100% better. I have already picked out my paint design so I plan to do it as soon as I get some new rockers on it so the outside will look decent. I also need to weld in 2 new body supports to get the cab straight, but I got those already. my biggest thing was getting it moving on it's own because my welder is under the house and I need to drive the truck over too it.
honestly I am just hyped because I can hop in it and drive it! I will try to get some pictures up today with the new top so you can see what I am talking about.
71 Bronco - twin sticked, full width, 2" lift, wristed arm, lots of rust...
it is limited to yard knome status untill I start working on a regular bases. I am kind of in limbo untill I get some paperwork taken care of for my company. we brake ground on our first big project in may.
I realy want a soft top in the worst way but I need a cage before I think about that. the seals I need for the new hard top are only going to run about $200 so I am going that rought when the funds free up some. I also need some front shocks and a couple odds and ends but it is minor stuff. I am at the point of 1 day worth of tightening and small work to get it done. I am planning to do some floor pans here soon because I got it all. I am heading to PA in a few weeks to help my cousin build a house, and my uncle has a shop so I think I am going to try to get him to teach me how to do some bending and get some hoops made for the cage I want. I am thinking of flexing it next week just to see how the springs work out. if I am dissapointed then I might swap them out for those long springs I had on the BII just to see exactly how much lift it gives and to see if it does any better...
it sucks when you have all the time in the world and no cash to buy parts. I even got desperate enough to price my falcon to someone...
