stock axle

Hello All,
I am a newby to this forum and to modifying my 1988 (all stock) Bronco II. I want to replace the manual locking front wheel hubs. When I called parts store, I was asked, "Dana 44 or Spicer front axle?" From reading various forum topics, I gather it is D44. Can I make this assumption or is it time to get some ramps and a creeper and drag myself under the truck?

On your Bronco II, the front axle is a Dana 28, and the rear axle is a Ford 7.5".

I think your parts monkey was looking up a fullsize bronco.
