I believe it was a 2.8, I'll have to double check but if anyone knows of any sites that do a run thru it would be great. I'm a jeepchick but I'm replacin a friend's clutch and they always help.

thanks!

Its really just the same as any other clutch job. Remember to unbolt the tranny from the crossmember and raise the tranny to tilt the motor up to get the top two bolts out of the bellhousing, then remove the crossmember and drop the tranny to get the middle two. You might want to get a transmission cradle to attach to a floorjack, because when you pull out the tranny, and if you leave the t-case on, it will cause the whole assembly to rotate sharply (or you could just remove the t-case, this happened to me, it was scarry). If the truck is tall enough, you won't even need to raise it on jacks (I didn't have to jack it up), it probably makes getting the tranny in easier. Other than that, if you can swing a wrench, its a piece of cake ;)(I replaced the clutch and transmission by myself in my 88 in 4 days, woulda been 3 if not for auto store mis-haps). Good luck.
