Re: 5.0 Install
This may be a stupid question but I was always told there is no such thing as a stupid question so here it goes. Which fuel line is the feed? I imagine it was the bigger one and the smaller one was the return. The black one is just a vapor return from what I understand. I don't have emissions so can I get rid of that and the charcoal canister? If not where must the hose from the canisiter go? I won't be needing the return line anymore so should I plug the line or put a breather type filter on the end?

Re: 5.0 Install
So I'll just put a breather type filter on the end. Here is another question for you, can I add a clutch to my brake assembly, or will I need a whole new one. If I need a new one I'll be making a custum one. I just want to find out before I start fabbing something.

Re: 5.0 Install
i think the(auto) brake pedal is to wide just to ad a clutch pedal. i think your gonna need both pedals. i swapped a navajo over to a 5spd. looks kike theres a enough room for the big brake pedal there

Re: 5.0 Install
nope, your gonna need both pedals. with the auto, the brake pedal has the piviot pin welded to it,with a std,the clutch pedal has the piviot welded to it and slides through the brake pedal. its all commin back to me now
Re: 5.0 Install
Thanks. I'll make something up, and just put a limit switch in for safety.
Re: 5.0 Install
Can someone tell me what I should hook the green/ yellow wire to with the big brown resistor on it. It came from the ECU and went to the instrument cluster. Should it just be hooked to a 12v source? If so, constant or switched? Thanks.
Re: 5.0 Install
I attempted to start my 5.0 with no luck. It turns over but barely. I don't have a clutch pedal made yet so I was trying it in neutral. A guy I know that works on Mustangs said this would be okay. I have 12v at the start, but it turns over like the battery is dieing. It really struggles. Any help would be great.
All this work and I am finally almost done. I can say it wasn't as hard as I made it. I really didn't have trouble with the swap, just all the parts and what can be used and what can't. That is what got me. I'll post pics once it's complete and running with a little bit more of a breakdown of what I went through. Anyway, if I could get some help with this it would be great.

Re: 5.0 Install
try a different starter, you have the spacer plate in?? thats the plate inbetween the block and bell. did you ever hear that motor run?? take all the spark plugs out and try it,it should spin over good then
Re: 5.0 Install
Starter is brand new. Didn't know about the spacer plate. I have a dust sheild. Could use a picture.
