I think he used the hydro bell housing though. I am probably going to get my flywheel tomarrow so I will see if I can get any info out of the guys at the parts house.

Yeah, I didn't see any reason the newer clutch wouldn't work. Only one way to find out for sure!

I will be doing this in the next week or so......I will let you know what I come up with.

just ordered the clutch bracket.

You can make the bracket easy. In the link you posted Lars says that he used the stock clutch just fine and (I don't doubt Lars one bit) but he does not say what stock clutch (the newer or the older one) and I will send him an email and find out, he owes me for a few beers on the Con last month.

this is a quote from an email I got from Lars

"Related to this, Napa is now selling brand new flywheels for less than
$80. It's the 1986 F150 with 5.0 engine, same as what I have. I know a
couple of guys in this area that have bought one in the last six months
for use with a 5.0 and their old clutch. And yes, that application is 50
oz imbalance, 164 tooth ring gear."

I stand corrected, I held one of each of the casting #'s that I could find and did what I thought was a through search but it just goes to show why I work with my hands instead of as a researcher.

the fat man has stumbled in...


ill try to dig up the stuff i used, but all i can rember right now is, it was a 50 oz flywheel off ebay with 164 teeth, mid 80s f250 is what i ordered the clutch and stuff for. ill see if i can get any other info for ya guys
