Finally got around to draining and refilling axle oils on my BII....rear was dark and sludgy while the front was nice and golden still.

Haven't driven it a ton yet but I have yet to hear the popping noise so I'm thinking the fluid swap did the trick....

Hey hopin some of y'all are still around I'm in need of new tires my 88 bronco ii is all stock with stock rims could I get 30x9.5 r15 on it? I don't mind a little rubbing I can just get all four tires for 100 here's the tires https://www.treadwright.com/p-6-30-9-50r15-puma.aspx

If your oil was all sludgy.i would change it again and replace the wheel seals and probably the pinion seal.
