it was the starter. bought a new one fixed everything

I bow to thee o wise one Tek. Still don't see how a starter can overheat a coil.

Congrats on your fix. A started could draw so many amps when you are trying to start up that the voltage to the coil dropped to a low value and as a result drew too much current? I Dunno but glad to see you under power now. Have Fun
