I think you misunderstood, the later D44 from fords have casted c wedegs instead of weld on. there is no tube in part of the axle it is a casted on end. but if you do get that axle you will have disk breaks and it will be full width.
you can use the BII drp pitman arm but you will need to run the D44 steering, it is set up different. you can have the passenger side radius arm wristed and save some money instead of buying the duff arms. besides you should get the factory arms with the axle anyway.

thanks for saying it better than i said dbrown, sometimes i talk and
anyways i bought a d44 awhile back, a older one, with cast c wedges and it had drum brakes. i ended up swaping out knuckles, spindles, and blah blah blah just to find out i couldnt cut those damn c wedges off.

that sucked

late 60's early 70's. i think the 75-77 f-150 extended cab has what your looking for. you could find a f-250 leaf sprung d44 and buy the wedges from Duff.

agree, the only reason I would go with the cast wedge is if you were wanting to go full width and you planed to space out the coil buckets.

the one that I have is a 79 Bronco HP D44 and it already has disk breaks.
79 was the last year of the SA for fords unless you are talkingabout the larger FS PU's. the F150's went to TTB D44

your gonna pay a crap load but if you have the fund's go for it. d44's are plenty and cheap. hit the yard's up and look to see if you can find one with welded wegdes....

Are you wanting to use a FS axle? If so then get a d44 from a f250 with leaves and weld on the c wedges like d-diesel said. Or cut down a 78-79 to EB width.
