Forum search no help, so I'm asking. Doner car for a 2.9

Post by bower100 »

The search function did'nt help and I see no FAQ section for this info:

If I was to look for a 2.9 for my '88 bII, What vehicles would I find it in?

Someone recently posted the 2.8 is in Mustang II's.

Someone else mentioned mayby an older Aerostar.

Help narrow my salvage yard searches.

Thanks, dave.

P.S. Not looking to go the 4.0 route.

You will find the B2 2.9 in Bronco II's Rangers, and Aerostars. I can't think of any other aplication other than the Merkur scorpio something like that but they are rare. If you were in the UK I would be looking for a Cosworth 2.9..

for the 2.9L you will want to look for 86-the end of production on the BII and for the ranger I think it went untill 93 but not sure on the end date.

as for the areostar all the ones I have ever seen were 2.8L, 3.0L, or 4.0L...I have never seen a 2.9L areostar. but that is not saying they are not out there.
