I did a 77 crapi 2.8 into my 85. I used the ignition and carb. Stock BII exhaust. I believe that I had to change out the intake and the front cover to make it work with the bii cooling system. I would do it again if the need ever arised.

I want to do the same swap, we have a great running 2.8 in 78 Mustang 2.
I wonder if we will have to swap oil pans ? I haven't looked under the Mustang yet to see if the pans appear the same. I would also like to swap in a 5-speed at the same time,(we have one in a parts truck) my sons 84 B2 has the 4-speed in it now.

Does an 85 have the goofy water pump like a mustang and an 84BII ? Did you use the mustang Intake ? Anyone checked out those tubular exhaust manifolds on the 86 Aerostars ? thanks for the info guys not only do I need to check out the oil pan but mabey a oil pump too ! - but that would be a good thing to replace anyways - cool forum

i think the sump is on the front of the mustang so you may have to swap them.

Was there a 2.8 in the Aerojunk in 86 ? It was a 2.9 wasn't it ?

Picked up a whole aerostar for 100.00 and it's got the tubular exhaust manifolds ! :D it's also got a serpentine belt system I'm wondering if I can run this in my 84 BII ? so far I figure I can run all mustang block, heads, intake and spacer and carb and distributer. Broco II oil pan and pump. Aerostar front cover ,water pump serpentine belt system - can I use the aerostar power steering pump ? The Aerostar has air conditioning can I run this bigger radiator too ? Also - are there any differences in vibration dampeners which one to use ? probably the original BII one but are they all the same ?? Any help with any of this is greatly appreciated.

I would assume that the aerostar is a 2.9 and if that was the case then none of the hardware will bolt on.
