how to ID Dana 44, 60 and 9" axles
getting ready to start lookin for a solid front axle and a 9" rear for my 87 BII, just need some help figuring out how to identify a Dana 44 or Dana 60 front axle and a 9". any info would be great

that is kind of an open ended question...
what width are you going?
if you are looking at an early bronco set of axles then they are all 9" and the way to tell the front is if it has ball joints.
on a rear, most ford full size trucks from the 70's are going to give you what you are looking for. if it is 5 lug then it is a 9" if it is 8 lug then you have a 60.
however on the front you can find a 8 lug D44
here is some info on the D44:

as for the 9"...if you find a removeable 3rd and it is out of a truck more then likely it is a 9", however the 8" has the same style of 3rd.

71 Bronco - twin sticked, full width, 2" lift, wristed arm, lots of rust...
