Hey guys, was wondering what I should give for an offer.
I went and looked at another BII today, it's an 87' with 97,671 miles on it. Currently the tranny is slippy but the guy believes it may be due to to much tranny fluid. It is an auto with the 2.9l and push button 4 wheel drive.
For body damage the rear lid is cracked pretty good where the spare tire mount is, looks like it got slammed pretty hard. It currently has the running boards with fender flares installed, however there is quite a bit of rust under them and they are cracked in a few places. Has the stock tires and rims which will most likely need to be replaced.
The interior is really clean and unlike mine the headliner is still intact. He custom made some wood grain crap that's attached to the dash and shifter area that will need to be removed and depending on how it looks may need a new dash.
Do you think $300 or $400 would be a decent offer? He doesn't really care and told my father to just give him an offer cause he really needs to get rid of it.
Thanks for the input in advace.

A4LD,Auto 1350, and auto hubs are the three worst things you can have in a b2. That tranny is gone, when they start slipping, start looking for a new one. Those things go out monthly. Can he prove its 97,671 and not 197,671? If your just looking for a project and the motor is in good shape with no clatter or bad leaks Id tell him its going to cost you a new tranny and offer him $250. These things are way too common to dump a bunch of money on a bad one.

when you talk to him it will probably help your case to explain that you are not going to use the parts for your project. then ask him if he would let you have it for cheaper with out the parts...then when you get it home just take out anything you don't need and return it to him.

Automatics don't slip when they are overfull. Not until to much pressure is built up and blow the seals. Then it slips from lack of fluid cause it all leaked out. I would give him a 100 bucks cause the tranny will cost you 1200 and up.
