HAHAHA I am trying to get an idea of how I want to chop mine. I cant decide if I want it all the way to the windshield or just the FS bronco style. Show me what you guys have done or seen. Thanks
WOW!! i see someone's been buisy. it's looking good so far make sure you get good detail cuz i might have to undertake this mod. i guess it's cage time.
What I am leaning to is cut all the way to the top of the windshield off, lust like a EB. Then cage down from there and all the way back and down to the floor/frame at 6 points.

The bed sides get real floppy without the top on. Then you'll be stuck with half doors. Cage obviously a must for any chopping. I think it gets cold enough in BFE that you'd want some kind of heat containment.....
Otherwise EB style (not jeep dumbass ) is pretty sweet. If I didn't do so much snow wheelin I'd be all over it.
yeah, it's my money pit. the top is far from done though. right now I am in the position that I am going to start trailering it so I am debating the same "no cab" option. if I stay with what I have I am going to take the hood from a 70's style pickup and chop it to make a hing style flat top for the rear to help with the heat issue and water I tend to collect in the back. ever since I sunk it last year the mildue has gotten on my nerves. I have pics but what I did was pretty straight forward. just took the beck piller and welded it in to the front part of the chop and used the leftover sheet metal from the roof to fill in and fab up the parts the support the top part of the hatch. I didn't buy much metal, just used some scrap I found laying on the side of the road. like old bed frames, basicly any thing that had metal in it got dragged back to the house and got cut up and cleaned up in to stock. I still stop to pick up stuff weather I need it or not. I can always use it for something. you just need to be careful what materials you use and where. like you don't want to use aluminum on a roof suport, that kinda thing.
71 Bronco - twin sticked, full width, 2" lift, wristed arm, lots of rust...
