I got them for christmas, but they are from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. once I got the panal cut away from the floor it was a pretty smooth install. the shifter feels nice and tight also. I am getting realy excited about getting this thing out...
Who polished your stick
LOL, do you realy want me to answer that????

I still have to secure the tunnel cover but I am waiting untill I replace the floor pan so I can get it nice and tight to the sheet metal.

I did have one question though...the stick on the left is for the front I am assumeing? it has 2 aparent gears but it just has a small amount of movement back into what feels like another gear but it will not stay...is that normal? I am assuming that is the lowrange? but doing the shift rail mod, will that make it stick into low with that little bit of movement?

I planned to pull the transfer case to do a rebuild on the trasmission and transfercase anyway and was planning to do the mods you had posted about on the shift rails. but I think I am just going to get it running how it is at this point and then pull it all out when I finish and get everything working well.

Until you do the shift rail mods, you don't have full independant shifting. Is yours a T-shift or J-shift? J-shift doesn't require any mods.

The lever on the left is the front axle, and the one on the right is the rear axle. With the pills still in place, To get low range on the front, the rear has to be in low first, or it's actually easier to shift them at the same time.

Also, you really need to be rolling really slow for it to drop into gear. It sounds like it's not going into gear.

I knew it wouldn't be complete independent shifting untill I removed the pills, my bigest thing was I am just trying to get it all mocked up and running before I tear it down and start redoing everything. my D20 is a T shift. the right side will go into all 3 positions, the left side looks like it only goes into 2.

Hi

do you mean at the rails or on the knob of the shifter?

if you mean at the shift knob then I have what fells like Hi and N, but no Lo.

like if the front rail is in the same postion as the rear rail all the way back into the case, you can actualy bump it back about 1/8" into the case then it stops. I didn't realy think that low could be engaged from such little movement but I just wanted to make sure. it might just be a little play in the rails.

I will go out and play with it and let you know for sure...I might just need to get it up and going before I realy get into this though...

That shift pattern is for the shifter, not the rail. Sounds like your front axle is not going all the way into gear. It can be a bit of a pain if the vehicle isn't moving. You can try turning the driveshaft a bit. But remember, to get front low, the rear has to be in low first, or shift at the same time.

For 2 hi, rear goes in high, front in neutral.

yeah, I am just going to get the truck moving on its own power before I make any final judgement. one of the things I am looking forward to trying is the 2Lo for hepling me move stuff around when cutting up junk.

I did make a step in the right direction today...the motor is now running. I have gotten alot done this week on it, I hope I can keep the drive and get the clutch linkage figured out this weekend or next week.
