Well, just thought I'd resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one.
I got the new transmission in. It looks a lot better than the old one, and it didn't have pieces of bearing cage floating around in it, so its definetly better. I had to use the bellhousing bolts to work the trans on to the locating dowels, but there was pretty much no resistance, so that tells me that the splines in the clutch aligned with the input shaft. T case is a heavy bitch, way beefier than the trans.
I found out what made all the bearings screw in my old trans. I had to replace the pilot bearing because it was completely hollowed out. Its supposed to have needle rollers in it, and the input shaft serves as the inner bearing race, but no needle bearings, the input shaft just flopped around in there causing the input bearing to blow, and probably every other bearing. But no gears are blown, so it can be rebuilt. Anyway. Later.

Yay, I got the truck running today. Had to put in a new master cylinder cause I fucked up the old one taking it out. I love the feel of a new clutch and pressure plate. No wierd noises, the truck runs smoother than when I bought it 4 years ago. Thanks for the advise guys.
