frame

Post by partsman66 »

Anyone here ever just stripped the body off a BII and just used the frame and a cage for offroading.I have a BII that has been flipped on body is no longer good.Thought it might be fun to just drive it without a body.

I have seen some EB guys do it but not on a BII. its not hard to swap a body though. if you were close to me I would give you mine. its going to the scrap yard in a few weeks. me and two other people lifted my body on the new frame in 5 min. total time to gut and swap was like a day.

a caged BII with just skins would look good. rockcrawlers rig looks nice, but I think he still has whats left of the tub. have you thought about that? keeping the tub and just chopping the roof completely off, then replacing what can be bolted back on?

No I hadn't really thought about it.That might be cool though.Just strip off what I can And cut it off at all the pillar posts.HMMM  Gonna try and cram a 302 or a 351 in it.

Iv got a rolled BII that I was thinking about doing the same with. I figured it would make a AWSOME trailer rig take all the fenders and crap off and throw 35's on it with the spare 289 iv got here.

Yeah I figure if it was just the frame you could mount damn near any engine you wanted.I'm a parts manager at a ford dealership and was wondering if i couldn't even get a 4.6 in it.Does anyone know how to make a cheap suspension lift or is it better to spend the grand and buy one.
