Post by 1988b2 »

1988 bronco II 5 speed 2 wheel drive. Will a 2 inch body lift need any extended steering parts or brake lines or gas tank filler neck extension or tell me EXACTLY what needs to be modified. Also a 2 inch suspension ( add a leaf and coil spacers) anything needed for that ( longer shocks, allignment or anything else). Thanks i prolly sound like a newbie but id appreciate it if u reply thanks.

ok well as far as steering goes depends on the model you have iv got a 3" body lift on my '90 and it dint need any steering shaft lengthening as it has more than enough to slide up a bit.

on my '86 the body lift kit came with a 1" insert for the steering column shaft. wich was defiantly needed.

i never had to do anything with brakelines on either had no problems after 2 yrs so id say no on that one.

the gastank filler neck reaches no problem just make sure you have it seated right :) for years mine was folded over on the side I couldnt see and used to slip off I finnally realized it one day and it was a bitch to get on without the lip folding over but once I did it hasnt slipped since.

depending on how stretched your e-brake cable is it might need some work done to it to get it so it isnt stretched especially where it comes from the body down to the frame rail. my '86 never had a problem my '90 is really tight but i figured if it breaks it breaks :)

and iv never done a suspension lift but I would really recommend going more than 2" if your gonna do it cause its not worth the hassle for 2" in my opinion.
