Who makes an external tire carrier...
Besides the factory one and the duff bumper/tire carrier ($$$$$$)? My 84 came without one and I`d kinda like one.
The factory ones are pretty decent. They are the same as the FS broncos.
If you really want something other than a factory tire carrier, I'd recommend a bumper / tire carrier combo such as the duff sells. Other than duff, I'm not aware of anyone else that makes one specifically for the bronco II.
I made my own.

What I mean is it all depends on your skill level there would defiantly be fabricating but I have never heard of anyone doing this before I know ppl using the stock carrier with 35" tires. get a tire carrier from an 87 or earlier the ones in '88 to '90 are not as sturdy.

Well since the Heep Wrangler and CJ rear bumper mount to a flat surface brackets could be cut and bolted in. The scrap metal place around me will even cut the metal for you. Just really need a drill motor and tape measure and some bolts.
But they changed the mounting holes a bit. So to refrase, my question has anyone tried this? If you have what bumpers have the best spacing for this?
Only other problem I could see would be the location of the hinge and clasp on the other end interfering with the opening of the hatch.
Some folks, beleive it or not, are not a fan of the stock carrier. Maybe that's why Swede stated he did not want a stock carrier in his opening post. Some folks, like me, can get metal and have a drill motor but do not weld.
I have had several BII's and always had trouble with the rear hatch closing due to the spare tire carrier causing the right rear quarter to move inward interfering with hatch. I bought my last BII because it did not have the external carrier and plan to put the spare on the bumper where I think it should be.
I understand mine is not the only opinion on this. Hope you have the same understanding. Just trying to bring ideas on this to light and hope to gain more information.
