taurus fan question
Look here for taurus fan dimensions http://www.broncoii4x4.com/taurus-fan/e ... us-fan.php . There are a few different variations of this fan, and they came in more than just the taurus, they also were in some Mark 7's and others things. I don't know a specific application, but they are laying all over the place in most junkyards.
They aren't going to just bolt up. You'll have to make some mounting tabs or something. Broncoo made his own aluminum fan shroud for a taurus fan, and it turned out awesome. Check it out http://forum.broncoii4x4.com/bronco-ii-776-15.html
There are a few places that make conversion radiators that require very little modification(Duff, kaufmann), but you are going to pay for them.
Some folks try using the explorer radiators, or the some of the bigger Bronco II radiators or a number of other radiators, but I'm not aware of any of them that I would trust, especially in a slow wheelin environment.
The biggest problem I see on most V8 conversions, be it BroncoII's, Toyotas, Jeeps whatever, is they skimp on the cooling system. I seem them on the trail all the time, sitting there waiting for their junk to cool down.
My best advice is to buy a good radiator, and a run cheap fan. Taurus fan happens to be a cheap fan, and also better than most aftermarket fans. It's just not real easy to mount. A lot of people try to get away with undersized radiators by running hi-end fans, but just doesn't work.
I'm not even running the taurus fan, because it wouldn't fit. I am running a similar 2 speed fan I found though. Before that, I was just running some fan I found that fit well. It was nothing special, but with my radiator it cooled just fine.
I run a generic griffin radiator I bought from summit for about $180. That's cheap as compared to the coversion radiators, but it requires hacking. I bought the biggest radiator I thought I could stuff in there.
