Mitsu FM146 Rebuild Manual

Post by jester »

Does anyone know where I can find a mitsubishi FM146 rebuild manual? I've searched online book stores, hayne's and chilton's offerings and can't find anything. I'm willing to buy the manual, I just don't know what company offers it.

All the tranny needs is bearings and seals. I pretty much have it tore down to nothing right now, but can't figure out how to get the tail housing around the shift rails to fully remove it. I'm hoping that you don't have to punch the pins on the shift rails to get this apart. Anyone have an idea?

Another question too. I have 3 of these trannies, 2 of which work but pop out of 4th gear. Anyone know what the problem with these 2 would be?

Thanks

Wes

if it pops out of gear it is probably a bad gear, or shaft if that one is part of the main shaft. being that 4th is 1:1 I think that might be the case. not sure though I have never taken on of those apart.

They will pop out of gear if the shifting fork is bent also. You will probably have to go to the dealer and get a factory manual for your rig. They aren't cheap, but they blow away the Haynes and Chiltons with their info.
