it's a Draw Tite Activator II.

got it from trailer world a long time ago. I can't wait to see how it tows now. when I was using the truck to tow the falcon back from louisville it did ok but it needed help. it should do really well now. I am hoping that by making the trailer hold its own with the breaks and straiting out the angle at the hitch I will have more control and can hold off on the 8 lug swap on the 76. I got a friend that priced me all the 8 lug junk for $150 so if I need it I will go for it over the summer.

this was pretty funney......if you air up the bags all the way with no load.......you get like 8" of lift

I put an electric brake controller in our Exploder last summer so I could tow my mom and dads trailer.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy the prodigy unit. It's pretty cool. It's senses how hard you are braking and dynamically applies more brake power to the trailer. Plus it looks nice.

those are realy cool, I looked around but when it came down to it I just didn't understand how my 76 could be "sensed". the wire you hook the unit to in the older trucks is just the wire that tells the break lights to light up. so I decided to just get the standard unit.

how did the explorer tow? about how much did you pull?

Exploder towed great. We went all over half the state, Over passes, gravel roads etc. We were only towing a tent trailer, but it's the biggest that tent trailers get. Loaded down with water, it's pretty heavy. Not sure on the weight though...I forgot.

The controller senses inertia, so it doesn't matter what the tow rig is.

ok, I got it kinda like one of those Gtech things that can give you a guesstimate on 1/4 mile times and g forces........nice

those camping trailers are nice, my brother-in-law has an airstream that is one of the short ones and my father-in-law has one of the long ones. they take them everywhere to go "camping"..... when they go you can't really call it camping though. they got A/C, hard wood floors, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen.......I always get a kick out of it when they tell us they are going. I even kinda think we cheat when we set up the cabin tent and have port-a-jon's near by.
