Take a look at the vender section of pirate4x4

I bought my ARB from PORC who I found there. Probably worth a call. He has rock bottom prices sometimes.

Then there's Randy's Ring and Pinion, who most of these resellers go through anyway.
Most places don't like wasting their time on window shoppers. If you've done your research and are ready to buy, you have a little more negotiating power. The more you buy the better the price.
If you are going to have a shop set up your gears, it's generally better that you buy from them. Many shops will require it for warranty anyway.
Stay away from the genuine gears. Sure they have a lifetime warranty, you'll probably need it.
Personally, I'd try for dana spicer for the dana 44, and Richmond, or Percision for the 9".
Depending on the ratio you want, you might be able to get used OEM gears at the junkyard. That's where I got my 60 gears.
And there are usually a lot of gears for sale on ebay.

also have you heard any thing about notching the housing in the 9" to accept the gears I'm wanting to run?

I got mine from a place in Michigan called Great Lakes Offroad. The guy gave great tech support and service and instead of trying to rip me off would tell me if something else was cheaper for the same quality.

Yes, I believe 4.56 and up you need to notch the 3rd member a little by the pinion pilot bearing.DBrown wrote:I was planning on a set of 5.13's or 5.38's. I will do some more looking. thanks for the info.

I don't think you can get a dana/spicer gearset in that ratio.
well, I have planned on trailering the BII so I don't need to do 65 anymore. also I plan on running the 35's for a while but when I can gather more cash I planned on some chromolly bling and more meat on the rims. so I figure if I plan on upgrading later I might as well bite the bullet and get what I want.
what do y'all think about yukon gears? found them for a pretty good price.

Yukon gears are Randy's Ring and Pinion brand, as I mentioned previously, a lot of the resellers sell these. In fact they will probably be drop shipped from randy's. They sell a lot of them, and I don't really hear too many complaints. Wouldn't be my first choice, but if the price was right, I would run them.
Are you going to share what you found?

well, jeffs bronco grave yard had a price of $125 for the yukon 5.13 for the D44.....I didn't think that was a bad price. in fact I think that was the best price so far. for the 9", JBG had the worst price so far $170 for the yukon 5.13 or 5.43. I did find a price around $130-$140 at complete off road for the 9". so far that is what I am looking at.
I'm kinda like you, I have never heard anything bad but, in the same note nothing really outstanding either on the yukon. I need to call randy's to get prices from them. I am probably a few weeks out from really searching hard......I'm kinda looking at bang for the buck if you know what I mean.
