Axle Shaft!!!

Post by Phillippi »

I finally got my cut down and resplined axle shaft tonight!!! I slipped it in and it fits nice and looks beffier then the stock set up. The stock end that was cut off looked like it was tampered down before the splines and then bigger at the slines. This one is the same size just to the splines and then shaved down to spline diameter. SWEET!!!!

way to go phillippi  . got some pic's? i think mose stock shaft's are like that i noticed the same thing on my rear 9" shaft's 28/31 spline 28 tapers down. i was over at PBB the other day and saw some axles that were tapered and then raised before the splines it was showing the thinkness of the shaft's. i think theyt were d44, or maybe a comparo of d44 and d60 cant remember. anyway good job.

Who cut your axle down? How much?

You're slowly chugging along. I like to see that.

Here is the shaft. My digital is crappy up close so that is about as good as its going to get. You can see that the shaft isnt tappered down as much at stock at all. It looks a lot better in person.
