2.8L to 300 I-6 Swap. Will it work?

Post by trentveronica »

I am considering swapping an I-6 into my 84 Bronco II. Has anyone ever done this or is it virtually impossible? Any thoughts?

will have to change the tranny and tcase to, fire wall modifications. best bet would be to talk with wanderer on www.rrorc.com , he has a 300 6 in his ranger, and gouky had started to do the bronco 2 300 but sold it off.

anything can be done with enough money and time, but that motor is just too long to realy fit right. the 302/5.0L is just an easier swap to get the numbers you are looking for. even a 4.0L would be more feasible.

I know that wasn`t nice but just thinking about a swap like that make me wake up screaming. It can be done though. Take lotsa torch and scrap steel! :D I`d say if ya want a smallish 4x4 with an inline 6, go buy a jeep! They`ve allready done the work!
