I was just up there about a week ago and there was no snow, but I am sure that by next weekend there should be some. How much exploring of those trails down there have you done? The trails are at the bottom of the road just past the MAIN gravel pit.
I will also be ready for snowy mountain playing time (probably after this weekend) after I change my radiator (my nice big 4 liter radiator decided to start leaking so in goes the old 2.8L rad for the winter I guess).
Want to go camping with me this weekend? (at tinkham)
I can't believe there isn't any snow up there yet, being that Baker is open and all.... You drove all the way up?
I ran some of the trails up there last spring, and a few when I lived up that way. They are pretty tight. Lots of full throttle action when the ground is saturated. I wasn't sure I would be able to climb out of some of the gullies, so a winch is recommended.....which you have.
No camping for me next weekend, thanks for the offer.
Nice pictures Nobody I didn't get any since my camera batteries were dead.
So ah anybody up for the Tilimook state forest in Febuary? It's in northern Oregon on Highway 6. Very similar trails to Evans Creek. Basically if you liked Evans Creek you'll also like this cept last I checked it was a little more greasy. Something about saturated clay type of soil makes it like driving on grease at times.
Anyways since I brought it up here's more info on it if your interested CLICK IT!
Yes Sir...ALL the way to the top! it was on the 14th
There were remnants of some snow up there but not even CLOSE to enough to even sort of cover the road. There was seriously like 1 patch about 1'x6' and that was ALL...but I did drive over it

EDIT: Hey anyone interested should find out what causes a "lenticular" cloud! I think its pretty interesting.
