Slight water leak, need some help.

Post by 762x54R »

Well just last night we had a bit of a storm and I came outside this morning and noticed I have 3 separate water leaks. Two are on the rear side windows on each side, those I shouldn't have any trouble fixing. But the one I have concern about is in the front. My drivers side carpet get's wet when ever it rains. I have tested with a hose to see where it is coming from and it seems to be coming from the quarter vent window in the driver side door.

I would like to replace the weatherstripping/seal but can't seem to find any, anywhere. All the packages or kits I have seen only provide the main window and the door seal but none for the small vent window.

So I come to you for assistance. Does anyone know of a good source for the seal or of any other ways to seal it up?

If nobody knows where to get a seal kit for you I have have some luck with putting a little brake fluid on the rubber to swell it up but if it's cracked it won't work. Also if you use it you will have to open it a lot so it won't "weld" itself to the glass.
