1984 Bronco 2 Alternator Problems

Post by chuck8107 »

In the process of replacing the 2.8 with a rebuilt 2.8 in my 1984 Bronco 2. I changed the ignition system to a dura sparke system as shown on therangerstation.com site and put on a 350 holley. Everything went well, started up do problem. Hadn't put it on the road yet. I'm having alternator issues, light stays on so I tested the alternator and it wasn't charging the battery. Replaced the alternator and voltage regulator. Still the battery light remains on and the alternator is not charging the battery. I checked to make sure I had all wires attached correctly, I even grounded the alternator, old one wasn't grounded with a wire. Still same problem. In removing all the smog crap, replacing the distributor, coil and old 2150A Carb, I have several wiring harnesses that are no longer needed. I'm missing something. Any ideas what to check next???

Hey thanks. I found a ground that wasn't connected. Connected and everything is well.
