84 - b2 engine quick question

I just got my first b2 after tring to get it from my aunt for seven years. It's been parked under a tree for the last six years. The question I have the books I have say that the 2.9 wasent used untill 88 or 89 mine has a 2.9 injected. Does not look like a engine change everything looks right. anybody got a answer.

84 had a 2.8 carbed, 86 was the first year of the 2.9. better get a different book

Dave my books show the 2.8 in a 84 but mine has a 2.9 injected. I an a mechanic and can tell if their was a engine swap this one looks right just engine is wrong ??????

well the 84/85 B2's had 2.8's. look at the molding around the side windows, is it metal like the wibdshield??

look at the door sticker,the date is on there. if you have a 2.9 in a 84 someone swapped it in

Hi Dave Ive been looking it over and its a really good engine swap who ever did it knew what they were doing. Vin showa a 4cyl and with that I would have changer it also but to maybe a 302 anway thanks for the help. Liked the pix

there was never a 4cyl in a B2
