Duraspark conversion question.

Ok, so this weekend i'll be buying all the parts for the duraspark conversion. My only question is, do I HAVE to get the older carbuerator, or can I wait. Also, It's not my daily driver, so It's not like ill be driving alot if i can't use the older style carb.

Sorry i forgot to mention that is an 84 Bronco II 4wd, with 2.8 and 4 speed manual. also, are there any 5 speed manuals that will bolt up to the 2.8?
