Re: 86 Bronco 2
Whats the year of the B2? Do you have a pic of the wiring under the dash that you can post so we can see what exactly you are talking about.
Re: 86 Bronco 2
This is a 1986 with the 2.9 V6. Looks like it has had some recent work on the engine but the electrical sucks. Attached are some of my problems. I do have a re-manufactured computer but it is not installed yet until I get the electrical fixed. I have also replaced the fuel relay and the EEC relay.
Re: 86 Bronco 2
wow, i think the top picture may be the intermiting wipers?
Re: 86 Bronco 2
The wipers don't work either.
Re: 86 Bronco 2
A little help out there. As you can see from the pictures, this is all I have left to fix befor putting the computer in. After that, it will get a paint job and brakes and shocks and will be ready for both worlds. I would like to get this done. I just don't know what those wires go to and what plugs into the plug hanging down. Any ideas?
Re: 86 Bronco 2
have you thought of going to a junkyard and see if you can figure where they go? basket cases are always a pain cause it looks like there are a lot of cut wires
Re: 86 Bronco 2
Anybody want a 1986 BII in really good shape but doesn't run? No power to the fuel relay and no power out of the EEC relay. Has spark. Changed just about everything that could be doing it but now I think it is time to go. Has new tires, Never been run on pavement. Good price $2000.00. Exactly what I have into this POS. By the way, junk yards have the wires already cut!!!!!
Re: 86 Bronco 2
Sorry i didn't fix it for you. all i suggested is you can go to the junkyard and see where the wires go and not all wires are cut in a jy.
Re: 86 Bronco 2
were do u live in WA cuz i have 2 b2's and would be more than willin to help you out plus i have a bunch of spare parts that might be helpful to you
Re: 86 Bronco 2
I made a hard right hander in my B2 the other day and the whole damn thing just cut off. Kinda sucked too because it was a small busy road in morning traffic.
Turned the key - no fuel pump prime sound.
Looked under the hood, the negative battery has 2 pigtail wires coming off it. One of them had come disconnected from the crimp. Dunno how - but pulled some tape from somewhere else, tape it up - and continued on my way.

Re: 86 Bronco 2
Still plugging away on this. I've changed everything except the pumps and all of the wiring. I am beginning to think after I paint this and do a few other things, I'll take it to a garage and have it fixed. Its giving me a headache now. I've got all of the wires hanging again and still no broken wires or cut wires hat I can find. Still have a couple of open plugs. I'm also going to take the EEC to the parts house to see if they can check it. If I can't get this fixed, A small V8 maybe.
Re: 86 Bronco 2
I had the same problem on my 89. I put in another 2.9 and got ready to fire her up and she would not fire. I had no power to the fuel pump. I ran a long jumper to the fuel pump and the pump worked, the thing even started right up. Long story short, turns out I had a ground wire that was broken in two. I fixed that and the things ran like a champ.
