302 swap for my bII

I want to swap out my 2.9L in 89 BII with a 302 out of a 87 mustang. I am gonna run a 4bbl carb instead on FI. Can the trans handle the 302?

Also i will be selling the 2.9L when I do the swap. It currently has 133,000miles on it

The 302 will basically b stock.

Not sure what trans you even have but there is no trans that was used behind the 2.9 that can handle even a stock 302, even if you did figure out a way to hook it up.

Ok Thanks. I was told i can use a C4 trans with a C5 tail shaft. Not really sure.

yup,but both trannys have to be completly disassembled to swap the shafts
