Body swap
your right about the 460 being a large amount of weight. I threw the bronco body off and loaded it on the trailer to haul off by my self. the BII body took me and 2 other friends but I left the dash in and just gutted the interior and took the doors off. you might want to have more people though because we dropped my body when we were putting it on the FS frame. I might run my 351M for a little just to see how it does. it dosen't really need to come out right now any way. I put the front end on today and picked the duff body bushings up from UPS. man, they look good. I can't wait to get them in. going to try to get it done on thursday.

the body mounting points sit 2" high up off the frame. with the bushings it will result in about a 3" body lift. the body will actualy come down about 1.5" with just the bushings. right now I have the 3" blocks holding the body where it is at.

yeah, I am noticing things like that too. the one thing I do like is the fact that their is plenty of room to get to everything. I actualy have room to install and uninstall the shifters for the tranny and transfer case. running fuel lines and wireing is definatly not going to be a problem. I might even try to mount my OBA tank under the rear pan where the gas tank used to be.

well ,I got everything ready for next tues. cut the small blocks to mount the body and got all the hard wear I need here is a pic.

I cut the blocks down to make shims. the mount's I made were right on on the horizontal plane but the verticle plane was off a little. so just cut the body lift block down to make what I needed.

I have a question for both of you.Did you use the core support that was original to the full size bronco or did you have to use the one for the b2?I am just trying to understand how you did this and was able to use a big enough radator.

I am planning on using the stock BII core support, but I will have to alter it. I have tossed the idea around of dovetailing front and back but as far as the tires are outside of the fenders now I am still undesided. I think D-Diesel is using a couger rad. but I might try to use the 351M rad. that was stock in the 79.

my rad is a mini of the stock top to bottom flow 78-79 bronco's it comes from a cougar it's a 3 core and it keep's my 351c cool at idle but when im in the pedal it run's at about 210 -220*. that's with out a manuel fan and a elecrical taurus fan running in reverse. the manuel fan kept everything cool but it flexed to much with the gas pedal applied and cut the top rad hose so i removed mech fan for now. the cougar rad fit's the hole in the b2 core support all most perfect. i'll post a pic if you need. i think that if i could do it again ai would get what Nobody has an aluminum cross flow rad from summit.

Let me run this idea buy you guys.I am gona try to get my 460 going,if that is sucessful I will want to use that engine.If I do the body swap I will need to keep the rad.that I have now,one reason for this is its brand new.I guess what I want to know is can I do the body swap and use the full size core support with some modifcations so I can keep the big rad.
If welding and cutting are needed thats no big deal as thats what I did for living for 6 years.All of this is still in the idea stage for now a lot depends on what I find when I take the 460 apart.

I think you would have to alter the FS coresupport more to make it work, then if you just made the radiator fit in the BII core support.
