dana 28 to dana 35 alignment

Post by rockhound »

ive completed installing my dana 35 in my bII i used the dana 35 springs about 2" higher.
im having a clearance problem on passenger side tire rubing rear of the wheel well when i turn rite the tires are
7.5 x 15" im thinking maybe because of the lift its throwing the tire to far back, maybe putting
the stock 28 springs would fix it anybody run into this problem on there project ?

I just did the same swap last week, but I have new springs from my lift that I kept. I didn't notice any difference in the alignment. There's no adjustment on the radius arm to make it shorter or longer. I sure hope it's not bent. You didn't get this axle off a wrecked explorer did you? Only adjustments are for camber and caster with the upper ball joint and steering linkage. When you put longer springs in you should also be putting in drop brackets that mount to the crossmember. This is recommended with a 35 swap anyways because the larger axle diameter has the potential of banging into the crossmeber if you hit something hard enough on the driver side.

finally found my aliginment problem, my b2 had been rear ended passanger side bringing the wheel well forward
1/2" so i used my tractor and a winch and pulled the passanger side back in place end of tire rubbing in wheel well !
