Re: help please
thats normal. does it start ok? they make a couple different styles of solenoids one for the starter with no solenoid on it and one with. so you are ok.

Re: help please
thats normal? but then where does the igniton wire go? because where i made that circle it has an I for igniton im guessing. And when i put the key in the igntion it doesnt even turn over but gets power because the lights work. And when i get out to manually put a screw driver to the ends of the solenoids it dosent even turn over there.

Re: help please
are you gettin 12v to the little red wire with the key in the start position
Re: help please
if you jump it form the S terminal to the baterry post, will it turn over or at least click? make sure it's out of gear before you do this. Is this why you changed the starter realy in the 1st place?
Re: help please
If im not mistaken thats the solenoid for the older types with points correct? I think the "I" terminal was to send a full 12v to the points to start the vehicle, but i really cant say for sure my 86 has the 3 post, but the best is to try and jump the solenoid, test the clutch interlock switch, and make sure there is not a short to ground on the power wire going to the starter. i hope this helps.....
