Original 66 Bronco
Original 66 Bronco
So i'm riding home from work and see this Bronco in this field, puke yellow, white top, wasnt there the day before. Next day i stop on the way home and get the phone # and call it. Guy says its a 66 Bronco, first year made, no options, straight 6, 3 speed on the column, 2 speed transfer case, body doesnt look that bad. rear windows cracked, wants 6k for it. So im wondering should i look into it more and try to get the price down or let it go. I mean this is the kind of truck you restore and not modify right. what do you guys think?

Re: Original 66 Bronco
from how you describe it $6000 seems a bit much. are the rear fenders uncut?
Re: Original 66 Bronco
from what I saw nothings been touched. im taking the camera tommorrow and will get some pictures

Re: Original 66 Bronco
If I remember right the 66 came with the six and smaller front diff and only one fuel tank.
Re: Original 66 Bronco
Sounds like a bit much unless it's in great condition and unmodified. As mentioned the front axle will be a Dana 30, rear will be a small bearing 9". Manual steering, manual brakes. Really nothing desirable unless you're a purist.
While I like my EB, I think my Bronco II was better offroad (same drivetrain), cheaper and easier to build. Been quite the battle getting my EB up to my Bronco II standards. Can't upgrade one thing without doing a bunch of other things first. Much of the work is already done with a Bronco II. Power Steering, large fuel tank, fuel injection ready, tilt column, creature comforts, etc. Really bronco II's just need FI 5.0L, good tranny and a pair of axles and they rock!
I'd love to see pics, but it's probably not worth the asking price.

Re: Original 66 Bronco
That's actually a very clean looking bronco. Assuming no rust, it could pull 6k. Not worth buying to hack up though. That one is a survivor and hopefully will stay that way. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Original 66 Bronco
thats alot nicer than i pictured. she could easily pull $6000. look for a 74-77.
