No offense taken.
Like I stated, I don't know what was done to the engine, but I did get to drive it once, and it had a hell of a lot more get up and go than my "stock" 2.9 had. As far as stock goes, it was far from, or at least it did not sound stock or feel stock when you rode in it or drove it. It idled at 1800 and sounded like a pro stock drag car. I know he spent a lot of $$$ on the engine, it had custom headers that were considerably larger than ones that were on other 2.9's and had true dual exhausts, a 4 core radiator to help in the cooling and was a tire smoker. The obvious things that you saw when you opened the hood, the wiring harness did not cross under the intake and if you looked at the distributor, it didn't look like the ones on any 2.9 I have seen.
But did it actually put out 213 HP, I can only go by the dyno read out sheet he was so proud of.
I do understand what you are saying Scott, that is what mine was before I got my 02 Ranger, it will be again when I get it all back together. I can say that I have never had as much fun with any car/truck I ever owned, as I have with my B2. Using it off road against full size was a real kick, go between a couple of rocks/trees and leave the full size trying to figure out how to go around the obstacle, go over a hump and the longer wheelbase truck behind you is left high centered because of the long wheel base. On the highway, mine rode as good as another truck and better than some/most, 20-24 mpg was the norm if you kept your foot of it, and near 500 miles to the tank was great when you were going on a trip.
Yes, I love my B2, wish I had gotten it going years ago, rather than letting it sit for so long. Hopefully, I'll have it running in the spring, still much to do and winter is putting a stop to a lot of it, but it will run again.

Re: 1990 2.9 help
Dave: you ever floated the valves on a 2.9?
Scott: I find a few in the local wrecking yards, and know of a yard a 30 miles away that has quite a few. Where you at? The weight isn't going to be a problem, it will be the size of the box.

OK, which part of the intake you need, top or bottom?scotty boi wrote:o by the way i was wondering if you guys would know where i can get another tb and intake...

Which part of the TPS, (throttle position sensor) do you need, wiring harness end or the TPS itself?
Dave: I have never floated the valves on a 2.9 either, and don't know anyone who has. I have always wondered if it were possible.

Do a search here: http://car-part.com/
It looks like they are $35 @ in my neck of the woods, you can probably find one local for a similar price.
