A4LD TRANY PROBLEM

Post by koskosky »

I have a 86 bronco II, 2.9L, 4x4, automatic transmission that shifts really hard through all gears. I drained and flushed it and changed the filter and no fix. The truck seems like the motor is running at a high RPM before it shifts hard into the next gear. Any help would be appreciated. I have already changed the vacuum modulator and checked the vacuum lines.

I agree with Dave.
You say that it revs up before it shifts, personally, I would take it to a transmission shop and have them drive it and see what they say.
This is one of the reasons most of us have sticks.
