It was clicking once without jumper cables. With them it would turn over. Then it was a constant click while attempting to start. Now I have nothing while trying to start.

Could it be a timing issue?

This is how I set it.

Timing pointer at zero.
#1 plug at TDC.
Lined up distributer rotor with pick up pointing towards the #1 on the cap.

That's all right?

I think it could be the battery. It charged all night and it's only reading 12v. What could cause a battery to do this in just over a year?

pull #1 plug, put your finger/thumb over the hole, turn the engine over till you hear air comming out, then look for the timing mark at 0. then pull the dist cap and see where the rotor is pointing

If I have the timing on the wrong stroke would it cause the starting symptoms I am having? I'm just curious. I will check what stroke it is on this weekend. It's been raining for days.
