5.0 Install
Re: 5.0 Install
Alright. I'm going to find a different carb at the junkyard, but minus the linkage this carb I have is in good shape. It still sprays the gas and everything operates smoothly.. There is an injected crown vic with everything in tac. I'll possibly get that stuff for the future.

Re: 5.0 Install
I'll get that turned around. I think one of the linkage arms is for cruise control which I don't want, need, or have. So if I can just get the throttle linkage figured out I would be set. The piece that the anchor bolt is on seems to have a broken stud. It kind of rotates and I think it shouldn't be doing that. I think it's a holley 2300. That's what I came up with.

It is LIST 6433. I googled it and came up with very little info. I saw one source saying it was a model 2300. I'm not sure how reliable it was.

Haha, that will do for now. I'll see how it runs. I'll eventually get a holley truck avenger or go fuel injected. Thanks a lot for all this help.
I'll see if I can get the linkage figured out before Friday. If not I'll get another carb at the junkyard on Friday.

Re: 5.0 Install
i got all my linkage and alot other stuff from a 79/80 LTD wagon that was TBI injected. like to have that TBI setup now
Re: 5.0 Install
Well I can't rotate the bottom plate. The throttle won't open up then. I would have to rotate the entire carb but that wouldn't be right. I found a broken pin on the throttle stop which caused it to rotate. The throttle stop was not adjusted right causing it to make the choke plate stick open. And I think I have 2 brackets in the throttle linkage because one is for cruise control. Everything should be good with this carb. Really the only thing it needs is my throttle cable.

Re: 5.0 Install
in the pic above, the spacer sets in the intake as pictured. i have never seen one turned around. even the 4V ones are the PCV is in the back
Re: 5.0 Install
Yeah, I don't know. I turned it as you said and it won't work that way. Do you have any wiring diagrams or know how to splice it into my '88? It is the blue grommet ignition, however I'm not sure if it's the I or II.

The pick up in the distributor? Well I pulled it out of the same vehicle so hopefully it's right. Can you tell if I have the I or II?

Re: 5.0 Install
the 1 had the small cap i think and the 2 has a two piece cap
Re: 5.0 Install
Alright I got the II then. From what I've read the blue grommet is the best. So that's good.
