Bronco II slips out of 4WD at a bump or sudden acceleration

Post by iamjerry »

It never feels like it locks fully into 4-H. A light push of the shifter will push it out of 4wd. It is obvious that the wheels don't grab in the snow when it slips out. The 4x4 light goes out. Speed is 10 to 20 MPH. Anyone else experienced the problem? Thanks a Mill. JERRY

I had something similiar about 7 yrs ago and the fix was to access the top of the transfer case and loosen the bolt that allows the movement of the shifter IIRC. Loosen the bolt and check for the movement needed to fully engage into 4x4. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong. If I still had my stock engine/tranny I would go out and look.
