vacuum and more vacuum lines ???

vacuum and more vacuum lines ???

I was checking things under the hood of a 84 BII 2.8L


Passenger side, I have what looks like a black coffee can, but I don't see any vacuum lines attached, is their supposed to be?


also I found a red vacuum line that is attached to a plastic cylinder object:

the white side has the letters dist and the black side has the letters carb but it also was not attached to anything :confused:
