Just stopped running

Hi. I am new to the forum and glad to have found it!
I have an 88 bronco 2 with V6 auto. I parked it one night and the next morning it would not start. I did not hear the fuel pump run so I changed the relay and bang she started up and ran. I shout it off and the fuel pump would not stop running. As long as I had the relay connected the pump would run. I disconnected the relay for a few days and now it does not stay running . The pump sounds normal in that it runs a few moments and stops but the bronco will not start, some times it will sputter but not start. HELP!

if i understand u correctly your saying the fuel pump seems to be operating normally now so id say try the fuel filter maybe... may be clogged

Thanks for the reply. I may not have been very clear as I read my post. Yes the relay had stopped running all the time and the vehicle acts like it wants to start but only pops.
