Water leaking in rear floorboard

Post by wood41_2000 »

Water is leaking in my rear floorboard. I see it coming down the post behind the door when it rains, when I pull up the plastic cover. Is it the rear 1/4 window, roof rack, or body weld? Is this in all BIIs or is it just mine?

I would say that this is not common based upon the experience with numerous BIIs, however my '89's drivers seat belt (in the post) would get wet when it rained alot. This was attributed to the sunroof. But if it rained more than a lot, the driver's rear floorboard (carpet) would be wet. If you don't have the sunroof, (my drains were plugged) and I were a betting kinda guy, I would say that your problem would be the rear window seal. Unfortunately there is not clear way to tell without removing the interior side panel.

Let us know what you find.
