88 b2 pickup coil

Ive got no spark and replaced everything but the pickup coil.. bought a new one but can figure out how to get it on. Do i have to take the distributer out? Theres rod with a plate on it that i get get it off and the pickup coil is right under it. Any ideas would help a lot thanks..

first off I recomend you go buy a hanes or chiltons manual for your truck, they are around $15 and will explain alot of the smaller stuff pretty good and will come in realy handy when you stat realy working on it more.

are you talking about the mod. on the side of the distriduter, or the actual vacume advance inside the dist.?
71 Bronco - twin sticked, full width, 2" lift, wristed arm, lots of rust...

Taking it to the shop tomorrow to get the part replaced. I do have a manual but it doesnt give me any information about it.. it doesnt have a vacuum advance inside it and im not talking about the TFI.. I was just wondering if i had to take the distributer out to change it. but thanks anyway
